Outage Management
In Alberta, thunderstorm season begins in May and lasts until mid-October. Mother nature can be unpredictable and extreme weather can cause power outages. Before a power outage happens, it’s a good idea to always be prepared:
- Sign up for power outage alerts to know why the power is out and to receive updated information
- Download our mobile app to view power outage information, report an outage and receive relevant data such as estimated restoration times, cause and the number of affected customers in real-time
- View our outage map to view and report power outages
Tips for spring storms:
- Use surge protectors for valuable electronics
- Know the location of your main breaker so you can restore power if the problem is your breaker
- Have an Emergency Kit on hand
- Switch your mobile phone to battery saving mode and have a portable power bank
- Register for Alberta Emergency Alerts
