Airdrie Students receive ECO Youth Awards

Apr 1, 2019, 19:21 PM

On Mar. 14, we attended the Environmental Advisory Board meeting held at Airdrie City Hall to present FortisAlberta’s ECO Youth Awards to students. FortisAlberta donates $1,500 for these awards.

“The ECO Youth Awards recognize local youth for their environmental stewardship efforts, supporting green initiatives in the City of Airdire and raising environmental awareness among students,” says Darryl, FortisAlberta Supervisor, Stakeholder Relations. “It’s always interesting to see how creative they can be."

This year’s awards recipients are:

  • St Martin de Porres School students are collectively working together towards implementing a school recycling program.

  • The grade six class at Windsong Heights School for their Eco Youth Organics program.

  • The grade four classes of Our Lady Queen of Peace School will take part in a Landfill Tour.

Congratulations to all the winners!
