Sponsorship helps Devon’s Royal Canadian Legion purchase life-saving device

Jul 30, 2015, 21:01 PM

We recently presented the Royal Canadian Legion in Devon with a $2,000 cheque to fund the purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

An AED is an electronic device that can monitor heart rhythms and tell if the heart has stopped beating. If required, the machine can then deliver an electric shock to the heart, which usually restarts the heart. It is one of those devices you hope you never need to use but if required it will save lives,” says Brian Morris, Poppy Chair. “The Devon Legion was extremely grateful that we were able to receive the sponsorship this year.”

As part of the sponsorship program, Devon’s Royal Canadian Legion will display the FortisAlberta sponsorship plaque alongside the AED unit once it is installed.
