Student Awards across Alberta
Oct 15, 2024, 13:46 PMAs we settle into the 2024-2025 academic year, FortisAlberta is proud to support students across the province in achieving their academic goals. Our Community Investment program is guided by the principle that our success is dependent on the well-being of the communities where we operate, live and work. By supporting initiatives aligned with our funding priorities—safety, education, the environment and wellness—we aim to foster a future full of possibility. Education is essential in shaping the future of our communities and industry, and we are committed to making a positive impact.
SAIT Electrical Engineering Technology Student Award: Through our partnership with The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), we fund the Electrical Engineering Technology Student Award, which recognizes and supports four second year students who demonstrate strong academic standing and are a mature student, Indigenous student, female student and new Canadian.
NAIT Electrical Engineering Technology Student Award: Similarly, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) offers an Electrical Engineering Technology Student Award in collaboration with FortisAlberta. This scholarship aims to support students who are passionate about electrical engineering and are committed to making a difference in the industry.
“I wanted to extend my thanks for the congratulations and the scholarship. What FortisAlberta and the Community Investment program is doing for students enrolled in participating programs is fantastic and it’s great to see the interest in supporting student educational efforts from more companies than ever before. These scholarships go a long way towards student success, or in my case, towards the investment of job-related tools and materials. The scholarship I was granted will go towards tools and other job-related clothing and materials helping make every day as an electrical tech just a little bit easier and more efficient, keeping the lights on in Alberta.”
