Canmore continues to rave about wraps

Sep 25, 2015, 21:02 PM

The Town of Canmore applauded our switching cubicle wrap program at the Mayor’s annual Spotlight on the Arts celebration on Sept. 24.

FortisAlberta wrapped 10 cubicles this year with five new images (two of each) and 14 wraps (two each of seven images) were applied last year when the program was launched. Canmore now boasts a total of 24 cubicle wraps.

The town of Canmore is one of three communities where FortisAlberta has partnered with local initiatives to create unique switching cubicle wraps. Canmore’s Public Arts Committee approached Stan Orlesky, Stakeholder Relations Manager, when they learned about the anti-vandalism project three years ago. They asked that rather than use our standard images on the wraps, they wanted to use the work of  local artists and historic images to help enhance the tremendous amount of walking traffic that they have. The Town’s population of 10,000 swells to 10 times its size during busy summer months.

Mayor John Borrowman said at his gala, “It’s great how FortisAlberta supports our town and the Public Arts Committee. Last year, we recognized FortisAlberta as our leading arts patron.”
